Inner City Brewing Company opens in the Beltline
Inner City Brewing Company recently opened its new taproom in the Beltline. There are currently eight beers on tap, including the Hub & Spoke Vienna lager, the Bridgelandia blonde ale, the Victoria Park porter, the New England style IPA and more. While there are a few snacks available, Inner City doesn’t serve full meals. Instead, guests can order-in food or bring something from home to munch on.

Lukes opens at the new Central Library
By now, you’ve probably heard about the opening of Calgary’s new Central Library. When you pop in to check it out, be sure to also swing by the new Lukes cafe and restaurant, which were created by Gareth Lukes of Lukes Drug Mart and chef Eric Hendry. The cafe is located on the library’s first floor and offers Manuel Latruwe and Pretty Sweet pastries, soft serve and coffee. Guests can access the Lukes restaurant, which offers a menu of oatmeal, porridge, kale risotto, sandwiches and more, from outside the new library building.

Pho Vietnamese Noodle Soup opens in Sunridge
Green onion cakes, short ribs, beef stew noodle soup, seafood pho — you can sink your teeth into all this and more at Pho Vietnamese Noodle Soup. Located in Sunridge, the new eatery opened its doors mid-October and is going to be a must-visit with the incoming cold weather. Be sure to check out the leaf mural by Calgary chalk artist Rozzie Lee in the front entrance when you arrive.

The Wednesday Room has a new holiday cocktail that gives back
Craving a cocktail? Try a new one that also gives back at The Wednesday Room. Between now and December 15, the downtown restaurant will be serving its new Smokey the Pear cocktail featuring spiced pear juice, spiced bitters, Cointreau, white rum, egg white and yuzu. Each time the cocktail is sold, the restaurant will be donating $1 to the the “Adopt-a-Family” program at Closer to Home.
