Growing up, when Chloe Cappelletto wasn’t in a school uniform, she was in a dance uniform.
But a lifestyle that allowed for little stylistic expression completely turned around when she started university. Her curiosity about what other students were wearing and how they approached dressing for school led her to experiment with her own style. She dove in, and people began to take notice.
An Instagram of her cute #outfitoftheday soon led to more than 1,500 followers tuning in to see what the budding socialite was wearing. Her strong social-media following inspired her to start a daily fashion blog, where she became the self-proclaimed YYC Belle. Now visitors flock to the site to see how Cappelletto puts a youthful, contemporary spin on classic pieces, often opting for bold colours and the latest trends.
“I feel like I’m so deep into the whole fashion thing and I love it,” says Cappelletto.
She’s partial to combining patterns, textures and colours in fun and energetic ways. A solid-coloured shirt from J.Crew, Rag & Bone jeans, Vince boots and the latest accessories from Saint Laurent, Fendi or Herms are all staples that help her pull together the perfect look.
“I kind of just try everything once,” she says.
