Local makers, artisans, producers and companies came together for an exciting evening of networking, snacking and celebration at the 2024 Made in Alberta Awards ceremony.

Hosted at Wild Rose Brewery on October 9, the event cast a spotlight on innovative, locally made products and the Alberta businesses and teams behind them. This year, the Made in Alberta Awards recognized winners and runners-up in 10 award categories that showcase everything from furnishings and home decor to beauty products. Over the course of the evening, awards were handed out to all of this year’s winners, which include products like Bath Tea Bags by naturemary, the Mandarino Amaro by Confluence Distilling, Traditional Beadwork by Big Bear Moccasins, the Sandon Automatic Wristwatch by Barrington Griffiths Watch Company and more.

And it was a big night for The Tisto Factory, a Calgary company known for its colourful striped pierogies. In addition to winning the 2024 savoury food category, the company was also named the overall grand prize winner of the 2024 Made in Alberta Awards, which comes with a $5,000 cash prize. The Tisto Factory was also chosen as the Readers’ Choice Award winner through a public vote.
