Inside the New Purr Petite in Mission

Now open every day of the week, Purr Petite is the first shop in the Mission and Beltline areas that specifically caters to children’s clothing, toys and accessories. 

The space was designed by Rebecca McMaster and Andrew Frosst of Design by Salt and includes this whimsical ceiling design that spans from the front to the back of the store. Look up and down and all around for fun nooks and crannies that are also throughout the store. 

Purr Petite is known for its exquisite taste in clothing, accessories and toys for the junior set (i.e. newborn and up) and the new location does not disappoint. The shelves are stocked with fantastic brands, some local, some new-to-Calgary, and some old favourites like BlaBla Kids and Tea Collection.

These letterpress cards and teethers are ready to grab and go.

The back half of the shop is filled with children’s clothing, accessories and toys.

Local children’s designers, Wylo & Co. are known for adorable moccasins and quirky patterned leggings and Purr Petite has a wide variety of style for those crawling and toddling through life. 

Custom wallpaper by local artist Kelsey Fraser adds a touch of quirky humour to a wall of soft dolls and make-believe friends. 

A small selection of children’s books fills the hallway between the front and back space. If you’re looking for a gift for a child in your life, you can never go wrong with adding to their library.

The magical world Maileg is available at Purr Petite. These sweet and detailed playsets designed in Denmark feature both bunny and mice dolls living in tiny worlds with exquisitely designed toys, houses and accessories.
