The days may be shorter in autumn and winter, but Calgary’s nightlife is still rife with local events that light up the city in the colder months. A new outdoor festival in Victoria Park is the latest to do so, embracing the beginning of fall through light installations, performances and art.

Running from September 28 to 30, Night Light is a free festival created by the Victoria Park Business Association, B!G ART and Social Studies Lab that celebrates art of all kinds in Victoria Park. This three-night festival will feature lit installations like light shows projected onto architecture, artfully lit sculptures, music and more. Night Light’s mission is to foster the upcoming generation of Calgary artists, so you’ll find plenty of pieces from local talent around the venues.

Night Light takes place at multiple venues with 12 Avenue S.W. serving as the central point, with art at places like Central Memorial Park, District Market and BLVD Park. Visit nightlightvicpark.ca for more details on the artists and festival lineup.
